Special Projects

Occasionally, we have special projects such as a building fund or special care for a dog (for example, surgery or specialized medical attention). We will post that here for the community's participation and support.

One-time donation
To make a one-time donation, simply click on this Donate button. It will take you to our PayPal processing page, where you may enter any donation amount, and use PayPal or credit card options to make your contributions.

Recurring donations
To set up recurring donations, select from the drop-down menu below, then click on the Subscribe button. It will take you to our PayPal processing page to make your contributions.

If you would like to create a recurring option that is not available below, please email us and we'll set it up.

How we use your money

HCW is an all volunteer rescue and sanctuary. Our annual budget for food and medical care for HCW rescues is all dependent on grants and donations and is not something we could do otherwise. We work hard for the best care for our rescues, while getting the biggest bang for our buck. We have an experienced animal care manager and she works closely with our veterinary professionals. We’ve been with the same well equipped veterinary hospital for 13 years. In addition, a veterinary internal medicine specialist offers his time and efforts.

It is a blessing all around to be able to care for these dogs in need while searching for families of their own; and for those who are about to lose their owners, to be able to set their owner's and families mind at ease. Inflation has driven higher veterinary care, medications, and food costs. It can be expensive and there is no expectation that these costs will be recouped. It is all dependent on donations and grants and is not something we could do otherwise. All donations make an enormous difference to our small non-profit, and enable us to provide critical vet care/meds to more dogs in need.

How donations are used

$5 Monthly
40# food each year, 3 doses Frontline or one bottle of Dog Gone Pain per year

$10 Monthly
Heartworm test, rabies shot, one dose of Frontline, and one dose of wormer for 1 dog a year -or- food for one small dog for one week every month

$25 Monthly
Spay/Neuter, heartworm test, rabies shot and one dose of wormer for 1 dog a year

$50 Monthly
Buys 4 weeks of home cooked food for a sanctuary dog, 1 bottle of Dog Gone Pain, a month of (150) puppy pads, and 3 months Frontline flea and tick
